Gold Coast School Of Iyengar Yoga announces the next Pranayama Course commences on February 16.
The Course runs on Friday mornings from 6 am to 7 am for six weeks. Pranayama is controlled, refined, regulated and directed breathing for the purpose of absorbing and channeling the life energy. It is the next step on the yogic path after asanas (yoga postures) and an effective prelude to meditation.
Benefits Include: Deeper more efficient breathing, improved abdominal strength and control, stronger nervine and immune systems, improved concentration and the experience of a state of deep tranquillity. Pranayamic breathing is different from normal breathing. It involves greater awareness and control of the diaphragm, abdominal muscles and overall posture. It takes the consciousness inward.
