Workshop with Jan O’Donoghue, Sunday August 31 from 9.30 am to 12 pm.
The “Breath Of Life” workshop is designed to help you greet the new season feeling relaxed and re-energised. The main focus of the workshop will be Pranayama, the guiding and control of the breath for enhancement of the life energy.
Although students are introduced to conscious breathing during regular term classes by learning to lengthen the exhalation during relaxation, Pranayama goes further. It leads to a state of tranquility where one feels elevated and peaceful.
At the workshop you will be given a sequence of asanas which will stretch your body open and help you to quieten your mind. After the physical work Pranayama will be given in stages so that students new to the art can practice the stage which suits their ability. More experienced students will be able to revise the more complicated stages.
What are the benefits of regular Pranayama practice? There are many, many benefits physically, physiologically and psychologically. Some of these include improved abdominal tone and control, elasticity and tone of the breathing muscles, greater expansion of the ribcage and lungs for better overall breathing, massage of the heart, soothing of the nervous system and overall feeling absolutely great.
Book now with Jan at the yoga school or send your booking and payment method enquiries through Contact Us on www.yogaschool.com.au or by SMS to0407123699.
Workshop fee is $65. Bookings must be made by Wednesday August 27 at the latest, along with fee or at least a deposit of $25.
