Pranayama course for Term 1 : Fridays 6 am to 7 am for six weeks commencing on February 22. Students should have one year of regular attendance at asana classes or at least six months, with home practice. The Course will suit those new to Pranayama as well as those more experienced. Pranayama involves direction of the life energy by refining, directing and controlling the breath. It is very different from normal breathing. As well as toning the abdominal muscles and the nervous system pranayama develops the respiratory system, helps one to hold focussed attention and gives the experience of a heightened tranquil state.
