“All About Abdominals”; the way to a well toned, well functioning abdomen. This is the first Workshop for 2012 at Gold Coast School Of Iyengar Yoga.

The perfect abdomen has a supportive relationship with the back and connects well with the rib cage and pelvis. It cushions and protects the vital abdominal organs and yet must allow them space to function free of unnecessary pressure. Ideally your abdomen also significantly contributes to an erect, strong posture and an attractive body shape. Though strong abdominal muscles are important for health and shape, strength alone is not enough. They must also be flexible and well balanced between right and left, front and back.

“All About Abdominals” will focus on the actions of the abdominal muscles in both yoga and general living and will assist prevention or alleviation of Backache, Bloating, Breathing problems, Constipation, Heaviness (e.g. tired legs), Indigestion, Spinal problems, e.g. scoliosis, hyper lordosis, hyper kyphosis.

A practical Workshop suitable for all levels.Anatomical charts provided. Notes may be taken.
